AdSecure to Sell for AdStar Overseas

Posted
By: E&P Staff AdStar Inc., Marina del Rey, Calif., provider of e-commerce transaction software and services for advertisers and publishers, has entered into an international distribution agreement with AdSecure, a reseller of Web-based advertising solutions. AdSecure, based in London, will market and sell AdStar's XML-based E-commerce Platform Services through industry resellers worldwide.

AdStar technology interfaces with newspaper advertising systems, allowing advertisers to create, schedule, and pay for one or more ads for distribution in print and/or online.

Besides offering advertisers "round-the-clock access to newspapers' classified advertising systems," said AdSecure CEO Phil Lowe, AdStar technology allows publishers to offer a variety of pricing packages and value-added services (auctions, click-to-buy capabilities) and supports Web-to-print reverse publishing, "which greatly improves [the] ability to compete with Web-only venues."

AdStar's E-Commerce Platform enables integration of third-party applications and ad sources with newspaper front ends through a secure gateway, and allows for enforcement of publishing rules so that delivered ads conform to a publication's requirements without manual copy entry or editing.

AdStar's proprietary e-commerce suite includes remote ad-entry software and Web-based ad-transaction services, as well as automated payment-processing solutions through its Edgil subsidiary.
