By: E&P Staff AdSend, a division of Vio Worldwide based in Cranbury, N.J., has upgraded its core print advertising preflight, proofing and delivery technology. In an exclusive agreement, AdSend has licensed the Websend browser-based solution for the United States, United Kingdom and Canada from Websend, one of Australia's Omnilab companies.
The agreement is effective immediately and AdSend will complete migration of its technologies and publisher portals to the Websend platform by next March.
Advertisers and their suppliers use AdSend solutions to automate ad creation, proofing and delivery. Publishers benefit from AdSend ad checking and managed reception.
The partnership "will provide the publishing and advertising industries with the most powerful and flexible ad management and delivery solution possible," AdSEND President Al Edwards said in a statement announcing the agreement. The platform was changed to support customers' desire to shift to a software-as-a-service model, Edwards said. The change, he continued, will enable AdSend to offer benefits through a highly automated Web-based advertising preflight and delivery system.
The move to a fully centralized system will make it easy for all users to register and immediately use AdSend from any Web browser, requiring neither-neither nor desktop software, according to AdSend. It said the service also can automate corrections according to publication specifications, including ink-weight conversion and image resolutions, which are controlled through the interface.
The new service will bring financial benefits as well, with Websend's XML, AdsML, XMP, JDF and PDF/X compliant architecture enabling publishers to integrate ad delivery directly into their internal workflows, booking and billing systems -- helping avoid errors, disputes and time-consuming reconciliation.
