AdStar of Marina Del Rey, Calif., has launched a classified ad
transaction service, AdStar Online, for recruitment advertising
agencies. The feature allows these agencies to post ads on online
job boards at the same time as posting ads to newspapers.
More than 400 agencies will be able to post jobs on online job
boards using AdStar's remote ad entry software. Several online
job boards, including Dice.com, JobScience.com, and
CampusCareerCenter.com, have agreed to participate in the new
service.
AdStar Online reportedly reduces processing time by allowing
agencies to create print ads and post the ads to online job
boards simultaneously.
AdStar also reported its second quarter results this week. Net
revenues for second quarter 2001 increased 65% to $532,000 from
$321,000 in last year's period. The company's net loss for the
second quarter was $358,000 compared to last year's $1.3 million
loss in the same period.
For the quarter, AdStar processed 25,000 ad transactions,
generating gross billings of $1.9 million.
