By: E&P Staff "Ask Amy" advice columnist Amy Dickinson has signed a $4-million-plus deal with Hyperion to write two memoirs, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Dickinson, who succeeded the late Ann Landers at the Chicago Tribune, is syndicated by Tribune Media Services.

Hyperion had the winning bid in what the Chicago Tribune called a "quick but heated auction" for North American rights to the books.

The first memoir -- which could be published as early as fall 2008 -- is titled "The Mighty Queens of Freeville: A Mother, a Daughter, and the People Who Raised Them." It's described as "a series of topical essays following Dickinson and her child from the mother's marriage breakup through the daughter's entrance, this fall, to college."

The second book, not yet untitled, will cover the Dickinson's childhood through her college days.
