Advocate's Old Baton Rouge Site to be Razed

By: E&P Staff The Advocate in Baton Rouge, La., contracted to have its former downtown site razed by year's end.

The paper reported Friday that asbestos must first be removed from the building over several months before the three-story building can come down.

Last October, the paper's offices and newsroom relocated to a building near its old production plant (which will be replaced by a new facility and new equipment at another location), after it was determined that renovation of the existing structure would be too costly.
