By: E&P Staff The Town Talk, a 33,420-circulation Gannett daily in Alexandria, La., bought two Advantage violet platesetters from Agfa Graphics, Ridgefield Park, N.J. One imager is for the newspaper and the other for its commercial operation at a separate site.
The decision was made after studying computer-to-plate output for three years, including a visit to The Daily Advertiser, a sister paper in Lafayette, La., which was running two Advantage DLs, according to Town talk Production Director Dorothy Sasser
The commercial unit, McCormick Graphics, prints hundreds of special-interest publications in fields ranging from automotive and watercraft to real estate and travel.
