Agfa for Violet CTP for 'The Advocate'

By: E&P Staff The Advocate of Baton Rouge, La., will add a total solution supplied by Agfa Graphics, Ridgefield Park, N.J. The order includes the Arkitex workflow system and two Advantage DL platesetters.

"Our objective is to automate as much of the workflow as possible as we continue to grow," Barry LeBlanc, manager of the Advocate's 18-member IT department, said in a statement. "Through the Web browser and online displays that are part of the Arkitex system," he added, "all users, supervisors and managers will be able to manage their processes -- and their time -- much better than they were able to before."

LeBlanc added that the Advantage DL platesetters will provide improvements in scheduling and cost expenditures. The paper is a 20-year Agfa customer.

The new workflow will debut in the Advocate's new, larger production facility, to be completed at the end of October.
