Agfa Graphics Promotes Silva to Sales and Service VP

Agfa Graphics, Ridgefield Park, N.J., has promoted Ruben Silva from managing director, Agfa Graphics, Canada, to sales and service vice president at Agfa Graphics North America.

With Agfa since March 2006, Silva had overseen Canadian sales and marketing.

Citing Silva's "impressive background in developing new opportunities for sales growth in many areas," Agfa Graphics, North America President Peter Wilkens said in a statement that Silva also possesses "a deep understanding of the elements that drive the print business."

Silva's 20-plus years of experience in the graphic arts industry include stints in technical and sales management at Presstek Canada, AB Dick, Itek Graphics and Gestetner, with areas of responsibility that included national supply and hardware sales and national sales and marketing.

While Silva ran Agfa Graphics, Canada, the company saw expansion of inkjet and software solutions and Agfa's thermal chemistry-free Azura TS and low-chemistry Amigo plates, which aided Agfa's CTP business in Canada.
