Posted
By: E&P Staff The Atlanta Journal-Constitution received the Internet Media Review Usability Excellence Award 2004 for Best Regional Newspaper Web site Thursday.

IMR conducted a study examining 10 regional daily newspapers' companion Web sites. It focused on the sites' homepages and usability, especially for typical user tasks like subscribing to the print newspaper and searching for specific information. Content density, load time, and consistent navigation were among the key factors in IMR's scoring of the Web sites.

According to the study's results, the Journal-Constitution had the necessary resources available, and they were easy to find and navigate. The New York Times and Washington Post's Web sites tied for second place.

Internet Media Review is a Web site that offers newspapers insight into the best practices for marketing and publishing online.
