By: E&P Staff Vio Inc. has appointed Al Edwards as president. As a member of Vio Worldwide's executive team, Edwards oversees the Vio/AdSend business, based in Cranbury, N.J.
A part of United Kingdom-based LMS Capital plc, Vio Worldwide provides solutions to streamline and brand digital supply chains through service portals, automated ad creation, digital asset management, automated, remote preflighting, color-managed soft proofing, standards-based integration of business and operations systems, securely managed, tracked and automated online delivery, network design and outsourced network management. Vio Worldwide is a participant in XML standards-setting bodies for online and print media.
In the U.S., Vio does business as AdSend, which develops solutions to link workflow partners in ways that allow them to exchange not only files, but also vital information about those files.
In his 30-plus years of experience with printing and publishing technology companies, Edwards mosst recently was president and director at publishing systems supplier Advanced Technical Solutions, which contributed to the creation of the Microzone Publishing Solution within the Tribune organization, which allows for citizen journalism and locally generated advertising.
Edwards also served as president of Autologic Information International after the merger of Autlogic Inc. and Information International Inc. Before that, he was CEO and chairman at System Integrators Inc. He earlier worked as a sales executive with Atex Inc. and as an industry consultant.
Announcing the appointment, Vio Executive Vice President Alan Darling called Edwards "an experienced and respected executive who has an impressive track-record of expanding highly successful businesses."
