Al Jazeera America to Shutter Digital Operations By the End of the Month

The closure of Al Jazeera America is coming sooner than expected.

Al Jazeera America staffers were told during a staff meeting at 2 p.m. today that they are to stop updating the company's website on Feb. 26, POLITICO has learned.

Digital staffers were told to stop reporting work after Feb. 26, although they will be paid through April.

TV operations will continue until April 12.
