Albany 'Times Union' Appoints New Vice President/GM

By: E&P Staff George R. Hearst III has been promoted to vice president, associate publisher and general manager of the Times Union in Albany, N.Y.

Hearst has served as the Times Union's vice president and associate publisher since 1998. He joined the newspaper in 1989 to lead its operational divisions.

"George's promotion reflects his expanded responsibilities for leading the operational areas of the newspaper, as well as his success in overseeing information technology and strategic business development," Times Union Publisher Mark E. Aldam said in a statement.
