Allentown 'Morning Call' Names New Publisher

By: E&P Staff The Morning Call in Allentown, Pa., has appointed Timothy R. Kennedy its new president, publisher, and CEO, effective today.

Most recently, Kennedy served as vice president of strategy and development for Tribune Publishing.

"Tim is a talented executive who is extremely familiar with the important issues facing the newspaper industry," Kathy Waltz, Tribune Publishing group vice president, said in a statement. "He's a proven leader and gained hands-on experience in his group role, where he helped expand our local publishing businesses."

Kennedy has been with Tribune since 1994, developing opportunities to expand Tribune's publishing and interactive businesses. He also has operational experience serving as interim chief operating officer of Hoy.

Kennedy's predecessor, Susan Hunt, resigned as publisher of the Morning Call in November 2005.
