By: Joe Strupp The Morning Call of Allentown, Pa. announced today it would begin selling advertising space on the front pages of several inside sections, but apparently not Page One. In a release this afternoon, the paper stated "the new advertising positions will appear in several sections of the daily and Sunday newspaper and in Merge, a youth-oriented weekly."
The paper added that the ad space would be available this month, but did not disclose a date. Ads would be sold on the front pages of the Sports, Business and Real Estate sections, the release said.
"The advertisements will be located across the bottom of the three section front pages in a banner format that is 3 inches tall," the release stated. "The space in Merge will be 2 inches tall and will span the lower portion of the front page. All ads will be in full color."
Ads would run on the Sports section front Friday through Monday and on the front of the Business Section on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
"The new ad positions will offer advertisers a unique opportunity to reach the Lehigh Valley's largest audience," Timothy R. Kennedy, Publisher, President and CEO of The Morning Call, said in a statement.
