To try to grow its members’ reach — and revenue — the Association of Alternative Newsmedia early next year plans to launch an online radio station that reflects the medium’s tradition of being “scrappy, entrepreneurial and willing to push.
Tiffany Shackelford, the AAN’s executive director, says plans call for the radio station to stream about 40 hours a week of original content, all of which will be provided by whichever of the group’s 117 members want to opt in.
