AMERICAN CONSOLIDATED BUYS WEEKLIES IN MAINE, COLORADO

Dallas-based American Consolidated Media is filling in its Maine and Colorado newspaper clusters by purchasing The York Weekly, a 4,500-circulation weekly in York Village, Maine, and the 1,000-circulation The Norwood (Colo.) Post.

No terms were disclosed in the purchases.

American Consolidated, which is headed by former Dallas Morning News executive Jeremy Halbreich, publishes nine papers in the coastal region of Maine and four papers in Colorado. In addition it owns and operates the Journal Transcript group in Massachusetts.
