By: E&P Staff InfoStructure News Media announced the sale Monday of several Tennessee weekly newspaper assets plus a printing company to Nashville-based American Hometown Publishing Inc.
Terms of the transaction, announced by InfoStructure News Media President Frank Warmath, were not disclosed. Santa Fe, N.M.-based Dirks, Van Essen & Murray, the newspaper merger-and-acquisition firm, represented InfoStructure in the transaction.
Included in the sale are the Humboldt Chronicle; Dyer Tri-City Reporter, and a percentage interest in the Trenton Gazette. West Tennessee Publishing, a printing company, is also included in the sale. All operations are concentrated in Gibson County, Tennessee.
American Hometown was formed in late 2005 by L. Daniel Hammond, its president and publisher, to focus on acquiring and managing community newspapers. In addition to weekly papers in Tennessee and Virginia, it owns and operates daily newspapers in Blackwell and Guthrie, Okla.
