AMP Makes Deal to Publish 'New Yorker' Cartoon Books

By: E&P Staff Andrews McMeel Publishing has entered into an agreement with The New Yorker magazine's Cartoon Bank to be the exclusive publisher of The New Yorker cartoon books.

AMP, a sister company to Universal Press Syndicate, publishes a lineup of books that includes many collections of syndicated newspaper comics.

The first New Yorker book, based the caption contest that currently runs in the magazine and on its Web site, is slated to be published next fall. Five subsequent books are planned over the next five years.
