By: The Forum says it is eliminating 25 more full-time jobs and the Grand Forks Herald is cutting eight.
Both newspapers are owned by Forum Communications Co. The announcement of the cuts cited deteriorating economic conditions.
The cuts at the Forum follow 21 layoffs announced last month at North Dakota's largest newspaper. Forum officials said those layoffs amounted to 9 percent of the newspaper's work force.
The Herald said it will end publication of Red River Valley Women, a magazine produced by its advertising department, resulting in the loss of four jobs. It said the other cuts include two reporters in the newsroom and editorial department, and two workers in the circulation department.
The Herald said the eight cuts would leave it with a full-time staff of 152.
