LOS ANGELES — Ankler Media, the most incisive and trusted voice covering the entertainment industry, has announced the appointment of Tucker DeSaulnier as senior director, social & audience strategy. The addition of DeSaulnier is the latest in a spate of recent hires that includes Lynne Segall as publisher, and Jennifer Laski as executive producer of brand experiences, as Ankler Media’s growing slate of year-round live events and brand activations rapidly expands.
In the newly created role, based in Los Angeles, DeSaulnier will be responsible for leading Ankler Media’s social newsroom, spearheading creative social campaigns and driving partnerships across editorial, events, video and podcasts through YouTube, Instagram, Linkedin and other platforms. His hiring comes at a time of huge expansion for Ankler Media, including social audience growth of 800% YoY and total subscription growth up by nearly 50% YoY. He will be reporting to Kelly Butler, chief of staff for Ankler Media.
“I’m thrilled to have Tucker join us to lead our social newsroom,” says Janice Min, CEO and editor in chief. “His taste, news judgment and voice are a perfect complement to our top class editorial and production team.”
Previously, DeSaulnier led social events at The Wrap, and supported partnerships with brands including Tiffany & Co. and Moët & Chandon. Before, he spent more than a decade at Ranker, where he oversaw publishing operations and audience development, producing high impact sponsored campaigns and facilitating strategic partnerships across the entertainment and consumer goods industry.
DeSaulnier began his career with over five years as news and social editor at Relativity Media, in addition to freelance writing and content creation.
