By: E&P Staff A collection of editorial cartoons skewering Vice President Dick Cheney was released today.
Ann Telnaes' 108-page
book is titled "Dick."
Telnaes, winner of the 2001 Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartooning, is with the Cartoonists & Writers Syndicate/New York Times Syndicate.
Timing was one reason Telnaes self-published "Dick" via the Cartoonist Group, which compiled and formatted the book. ?Cheney?s activities have inspired a lot of my cartoons over the last six years and I wanted to gather them in a book [before people began focusing on] the administration?s replacements," she said. ?Traditional publishing can be a long process." Cartoons in the book appeared in newspapers as recently as mid-November.
This is the second book for the Cartoonist Group, which was also involved with last year's "One Nation, Under Surveillance" collection by Philadelphia Daily News/Washington Post Writers Group editorial cartoonist Signe Wilkinson.
