By: E&P Staff American editorial cartoonist Ann Telnaes has won first prize in the 15th Dutch Cartoon Festival 2007.
That's according to her distributor, CartoonArts International/New York Times Syndicate.
The theme of the contest was "Man and Religion in Cartoons." Telnaes' winning drawing showed a woman surrounded by four men of various religions symbolically boxing her in by drawing restrictive red lines around her.
Telnaes's previous awards included the 2001 Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartooning.
