Announcement from Editorial Director for Content Strategy Alexandra Manzano, Executive Editor for Platforms and Operations Joe Schatz, and Editor-in-Chief Matt Kaminski:

As we continue to grow our ambition for a cutting edge, fast digital operation we’re excited to announce a new addition to the Content Strategy and Innovation Team.

Please join me in welcoming Annie Bryan, who will join our stellar homepage staff and work with editors across the newsroom to create a dynamic homepage for our die-hard political audience. She’ll help us think about strategies for distribution in an increasingly complex and competitive news ecosystem — including brainstorming killer headlines and intriguing alerts.

She will also work closely with the CSI team to help us grow and evolve our most important news products and storytelling tactics across all Politico platforms.

Annie joins POLITICO from The Philadelphia Inquirer, where she was most recently a digital editor working on content strategy, special projects, emerging news products, and newsroom training and initiatives. Annie is also an alumna of TIME and CBS News Digital and is a former intern at BBC North America, The Columbia Journalism Review, NBC, PBS documentaries, and more. Annie grew up in the DC area, and even though she joins the team remotely, she looks forward to getting to know the POLITICO family through many day trips back to the place where she first fell in love with journalism. Outside of work, Annie is a big fan of yoga, cooking, her fiancée Brigid, and their very hilarious longhaired dachshund Stu.

She starts today.
