By: E&P Staff APN Print Yandina, part of APN News and Media, Yandina, Australia, reports reduced waste with greater productivity since installing a QuadTech Register Guidance System with MultiCam and a QuadTech Color Control System.
Yandina represents the modernized consolidation of two existing operations, where the QuadTech equipment is installed on Regioman and Uniset presses from MAN Roland, which recommended the register and color-control systems.
"The Register Guidance System provides our press operators with greater overall control of the job in hand, allowing them to concentrate on other aspects of the printing process," APN Yandina General Manager Greg Carson said in a statement. "The MultiCam camera has more than proved its worth and stays locked onto marks during tension upsets such as start-ups and splices, automatically making adjustments at full press speeds."
The Color Control System has reduced makeready times by automatically calculating and adjusting ink fountains formerly adjusted by hand.
Based 80 miles from Brisbane and operating round the clock, APN Yandina publishes 24 dailies.
