By: E&P Staff Dutch-language DeWare Tijd, the larger and older of Suriname's two dailies, is now live with the ImageEd automatic color-correction system from Anygraaf (www.anygraaf.com/anyusa). Sale and installation were handled by distributor Intergraph Corp.
ImageEd automatically color corrects images for publication using site-defined parameters. Once color is corrected, images are converted to either CMYK or grayscale, depending on the chosen channel, allowing for a streamlined process and tonal consistency.
Adjustments within ImageEd are done in three-dimensional color space for accuracy. The automatic process optimizes colors so that details are not lost within fully saturated areas. It analyzes sharpness and noise levels, adjusting details accordingly. The software also offers a manual mode with a simple easy interface.
