By: E&P Staff The Associated Press and Univision Communications Inc. announced plans Tuesday for a ?comprehensive national public opinion survey? of Hispanics in the United States.
Among the topics the 2,000 Hispanics respondents will be asked about is their media use, AP and Univision said.
Other topics include matters of culture and identity, political attitudes, demographic trends, and patterns of media use, the announcement said. The findings will be released in May.
The survey, which will also reach bilingual and Spanish-only Hispanics, is being created and conducted in collaboration with The Nielsen Co. and Stanford University, one of the world?s leading research and teaching institutions, to help create the survey and gather data. Stanford?s participation in the project is made possible by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, the announcement said.
?Hispanics are an increasingly important part of the cultural, political and economic landscape of the United States, yet there are very few good media polls of Hispanics. AP is proud to be working with such an outstanding group of collaborators to conduct such a sweeping study of Hispanics,? Trevor Tompson, AP?s director of polling, said in a statement.
