The Pennsylvania Superior Court this afternoon granted motions by several newspapers to delay the start of Jordan Brown's hearing in the 2009 shotgun slaying of his father's pregnant fiancee and her unborn child.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review and the New Castle News asked the court to stay the hearing, which was scheduled to begin Tuesday morning, while it considers an appeal to open the proceedings to the media and the public.
