By: E&P Staff The Arizona Republic's Web site, azcentral.com, today launched the "12 News I-CAST," a streaming-video newscast available on the site and produced by the Republic's television partner, KPNX 12, an NBC affiliate.

The webcasts will be available online each weekday beginning at 6 a.m. and updated six times throughout the day until 6 p.m. Averaging three minutes in length, the "12 News I-CAST" will feature breaking news, often with video from Sky 12, the station's high-powered helicopter.

"Now that most of our users can fully experience online video, the time is right for the 12 News I-CAST," Mike Coleman, digital media director at azcentral.com, said in a statement. "No other local news site in the country can boast having this much original video content every day exclusively for an online audience."

azcentral.com is the state's largest site, averaging more than 60 million page views and 10 million visits per month. Nearly 90 percent of the site's audience is on a high-speed connection, and Phoenix is the No. 2 market in the country for broadband connections in the home, according to Nielsen/NetRatings.
