By: E&P Staff A number of syndicated cartoonists will be among the creators appearing and signing books at the June 7-8 MoCCA Art Festival in New York City.
The event is a fundraiser for the Manhattan-based Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art.
Among those slated to attend are Dave Coverly ("Speed Bump"/Creators Syndicate), Keith Knight ("The Knight Life"/United Media), Rina Piccolo ("Tina's Groove" and "Six Chix"/King Features Syndicate), Hilary Price ("Rhymes With Orange"/King), and Mikhaela Reid (editorial cartoonist/self-syndicated).
Also appearing will be King Comics Editor Brendan Burford.
Receiving the 2008 MoCCA Art Festival Award will be Bill Plympton, a cartoonist/illustrator/animator whose work has appeared in newspapers and other outlets.
The festival is being held in tandem with a June 6 comics event, co-sponsored by MoCCA, at New York University. Among the topics to be discussed that day are "Comics and the Internet."
