Asmussen Wins 'Best of West' Cartooning Prize

By: E&P Staff "Bad Reporter" creator Don Asmussen of the San Francisco Chronicle and Universal Press Syndicate has won first place for editorial cartooning in The Best of the West contest, which gets more than 2,000 entries a year from journalists in 13 states.

David Horsey of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer and Tribune Media Services finished second in the editorial cartooning category, and Steve Benson of The Arizona Republic and Creators Syndicate placed third.
