The American Society of News Editors announced today at the annual News Leadership Conference that minority journalists comprised 16.6 percent of the workforce in U.S. newsrooms that responded to this year's Newsroom Employment Diversity Survey. This finding shows only a half-percentage-point decrease from last year's figure and is still several percentage points higher than the percentages recorded for much of the past two decades.
