Responses to the 2018 American Society of News Editors Newsroom Employment Diversity Survey are indicative of a sea change in how newsroom representation is measured and discussed.

In September, ASNE announced a historic low among newsrooms participating in the organization's annual survey, which marks its 40th anniversary this year.
