The Richmond Times-Dispatch’s downtown headquarters has become the new home of the Associated Press Richmond bureau. The wire service completed the move to its new location today.

The AP team occupies space on the first floor of The Times-Dispatch headquarters, adjacent to the Human Resources area. The bureau had been at 600 E. Main St. for 10 years. The AP’s move coincides with the RT-D’s initiative to add entrepreneurs as tenants in the collaborative work zone currently known as 1E, which is located near the AP’s new location. In welcoming the bureau to The Times-Dispatch’s downtown location, Publisher Tom Silvestri said, “AP joins an enterprising group of forward-thinking businesses that share The Times-Dispatch’s collaborative work space. Welcome, AP!”

“We are delighted to be moving into the Richmond Times-Dispatch,” said Virginia AP Bureau Chief Dorothy Abernathy. “It’s an attractive, efficient and secure space in a good location for us. And it will be nice to be in an office building with other communications companies.”
