By: E&P Staff With more than 3,000 advertising seats sold so far this year, Atex announced that Mafra, the Czech Republic's largest media organization, will install an Atex advertising solution for all its media interests.
Prague-based Mafra publishes six weekly and 14 regional editions of Mlada Fronta DNES, with 310,000 total circulation. The new system also will be used to manage ad sales for 75,000-circulation sister publication Lidove Noviny and for Internet and radio advertising.
The 170-seat system, which will manage ad booking for all Mafra multimedia advertising needs, will include contact management, integrated accounts receivable, page planning, and production. Atex also will integrate the system with Mafra's other, installed systems, including a Unisys Hermes editorial system.
Calling the solution "a truly open system that allows publishers to choose hardware, operating system, and database platforms," Atex CEO for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa David Hall said Mafra will run Atex software on Sun server hardware operating in a high availability environment and using an Oracle database.
