By: E&P Staff Atex, Reading England, announced it will supply managed services for a customer in Italy and that it has acquired its former distributor in Brazil.
RCS Media Group will manage content and layout of Corriere Fiorentino, the new local supplement of its Corriere della Sera by connecting Corriere Fiorentino's newsroom to the content management system configured and managed at the Atex Managed Services Centre in Milan. Atex also will operate a solution that will store all published stories and other content for future reuse.
The solution selected by RCS will give journalists a modern and flexible set of tools for story creation and editing and for multimedia content search and selection, according to Atex.
"We are managing content at this site for 36 publications, and we are producing and sending to printing sites an average of 500 pages daily," Atex Managed Services Division CEO Roberto Antoniotti said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Atex has acquired Vogsys, based in Rio de Janeiro and representing Atex since 1999. Vogsys was involved in more than 65 system implementations at newspapers and magazines sites, working with content management, advertising, circulation, ERP and imaging systems.
Atex bought all Vogsys assets, including contracts related to Atex software in Latin America. Vogsys' partners, Alvaro Luis Godinho Velloso, Marcelo Vieira, Martins Gon?alves and Paulo Carneiro da Rocha Filho, will serve as Atex employees, as will the seven staffers now supporting Atex installations in the region.
