By: E&P Staff The Newspaper Association of America has released the finalists for the best newspaper advertising of 2006 for the ATHENA Awards. The list is comprised of 13 ads created by eight companies and one college ad program competing for gold, silver, and bronze prizes.
The following agencies are up for the prize in the general advertising division: Arnold Worldwide, Bartle Bogle Hegarty, Hill Holiday, The Martin Agency, McGarreh/Jessee, McKinney-Silver, TDA Advertising and Design, and Y&R Chicago.
Virginia Commonwealth University?s Adcenter is up in the student category.
The Best in Show winner will be honored with an endowment -- provided by the NAA -- in its name supporting the print advertising curriculum at VCU Adcenter. The winners will be announced on Sept. 27 during Advertising Week in New York.
