ATS AdVisor for 'Rockford Register Star'

By: E&P Staff Advanced Technical Solutions of Acton, Mass., will supply the Gannett Co.'s Rockford (Ill.) Register Star with an AdVisor Classified Advertising PowerSales system and AdsOnLine Web order-entry and AdFax facsimile ad-management systems fully integrated with AdVisor.

Star Information Systems Director Al Goodman cited the system's ease of use and fast training, and added that the paper anticipates "integrating circulation information from our Genesys circulation system to help renewal and new subscription sales."

Using automated processes and features, AdVisor PowerSales is designed to minimize time spent entering orders in high-volume, deadline-intensive environments. AdVisor's framework efficiently manages in one order the workflow for ads sold across multiple media. It creates a unified environment for all advertising functions, simplifying order entry, credit and production workflows, queries, and reporting.

The 64,518-circulation Register Star's system consists of order entry for classified liners, display ads, legal notices, and obits; AdsOnLine; AdFax; the ATS Long Obituaries and Legal Notices Pagination System; Interfaces and integration with the Genesys II business system and circulation system; Edgil direct credit card clearinghouse package; Pongrass pagination system, including the DPS AdTracker; Managing Editor's ALS; GMTI's AutoChooser; Classified Ventures Online Service; Celebro and Infinet.

AdVisor runs in Microsoft Windows NT and UNIX environments. The system will use Dell clients and servers running Windows, with Sybase SQL database. A Dell PowerVault and Array system will provide redundancy and scalability.
