Australian Newspapers Shedding More Weekend Readers

Readership of Australian newspapers continued to slide in the last six months of 2011, and the number of people reading magazines dropped significantly.

While Roy Morgan research figures released overnight continued to track a long-term decline in the readership of printed newspapers, research director George Pesutto said four in five Australians aged over 14 had read a newspaper in the past week. Three in four had read a magazine - including newspaper inserts.
