By: The Connecticut medical examiner's office says longtime Meriden journalist Kenneth H. Robinson III died of natural causes after collapsing at the Record-Journal newspaper's office.
Autopsy results, released Wednesday, show the 49-year-old Robinson died of a bilateral pulmonary embolism after fatal blood clots moved to his lungs from elsewhere in his body. The autopsy also concluded heart disease was a contributing factor in the death.
Colleagues at the Record-Journal newspaper, where he was deputy managing editor, found him collapsed at work Tuesday.
He started with the daily paper as a freelancer while he was in high school and joined it full-time in 1977 after his graduation.
Funeral arrangements are pending.
