By: E&P Staff The Web site of the Arizona Daily Star of Tucson, about 45 miles from the Mexican border, has entered into a headline-sharing agreement with El Imparcial in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico.
StarNet.com and ElImparcial.com have been exchanging six headlines -- typically the top three front-page stories and the top three local stories -- on a continual basis since the beginning of January. The Arizona Daily Star headlines that appear on ElImparcial.com are in English, and the headlines from El Imparcial that run on StarNet.com are in Spanish.
"We feel like this is potentially a very large audience for us," said David Reed, director of StarNet, who added that the Tucson area has become a strong shopping attraction for Mexicans in the Hermosillo area.
Correction: An earlier version of this story incorrectly stated the languages of the shared content.
