AZCENTRAL.com OFFERS GAMING SITE

Visitors to The Arizona Republic's azcentral.com can hit
the jackpot on a new casino-themed section
of the site. The virtual versions of nine casino-style games are
for fun only and do not award cash.

To play, users must register and log in each time they access the
site. While game players don't win prizes tied to skill or
chance, they are registered for a monthly prize drawing. To kick
off the site, azcentral is giving away a trip for two to Monte
Carlo. There will also be weekly raffles for smaller prizes.

"Our site is all about fun, and no money changes hands, but it's
not a bad way to hone your skills before stepping into a real
casino," said Leon Levitt, executive vice president/digital media
at the Republic.

The newspaper points out that Arizona is an important feeder
market for nearby gaming destinations such as Las Vegas, Reno,
and Laughlin -- with Phoenix residents making 1.8 million visits
to those cities last year.

The site offers a weekly e-mail newsletter featuring special
offers to popular gaming spots. Azcentral hopes to attract
advertisers to the newsletter and the casino section of the Web
site. Current advertisers include Mandalay Bay of Las Vegas and
the Reno Hilton.

The Java- and Flash-enabled games are provided by
Gameland Inc.
