Baldwin Technology Wins Dampener Order in Japan

By: E&P Staff Baldwin Technology Co. Inc. in Shelton, Conn., announced today that its Baldwin Japan subsidiary received a $1.5 million order from Chunichi Simbun Co. Ltd. for Baldwin's HS spray dampening technology, which will be installed next June and December on a new Mitsubishi Diamondstar press at the company's Gifu plant.

From its eight production plants, Chunichi Simbun, Nagoya, Japan, publishes seven newspapers with a combined daily circulation of 4.28 million.

Baldwin President and CEO Karl Puehringer said the order demonstrates Japanese newspapers' "commitment to invest in technology and systems that improve print quality and color capacity, while further reducing paper waste and labor requirements."
