Baldwin Wins Another Big Order in Japan

Posted
By: E&P Staff Baldwin Technology Co., Shelton, Conn., announced today that it has received a $3.3 million order from Sankei Shimbun, one of Japan's five national newspapers with the country's sixth largest circulation.

The contract calls for Baldwin spray-dampening technology, automatic press-washer systems, blanket-cleaning systems, and automatic guide-roller cleaners to be installed on new Goss Newsliner 90 presses for a plant in Hokusetsu, one of Sankei Shimbun's nine printing plants throughout Japan.

Installation is expected to be completed next June.

It is Baldwin's third large order from Japan in as many months, following sales to Chunichi Shimbun Co. and Asahi Newspaper Group.
