Belgian Newsrooms to Run DTI Software

Posted
By: E&P Staff Digital Technology International, Springville, Utah, announced that Belgium's Concentra Media chose DTI's editorial suite for its three dailies, Het Belang van Limburg (114,193 circulation), Gazet van Antwerpen (140,351 circulation) and Metro (275,000 copies published in Dutch and French).

Incorporating Adobe InDesign and InCopy and running on a multi-dimensional Cache database, the DTI system is expected to streamline Concentra Media's newsroom processes.

Stefan van Reeth, Concentra's business architect and DTI project manager, said in a statement that the mixed text- and layout-driven DTI NewsSpeed workflows "will become more efficient in the newsroom and provide an improved overview of production, enabling us to more efficiently track all elements of a publication."

With 118 seats ordered for Het Belang van Limburg, 23 for Metro and 131 for Gazet van Antwerpen, the suite consists of PageSpeed (page design and layout), SpeedWriter (text editing), PlanSpeed (planning and pagination), Wirespeed/PhotoWirespeed (to handle incoming text and photos), AdSpeed (to manage and build display ads), ImageSpeed (graphics management), SpeedLibrarian (control over organization, key words and grouping of images in the database), and eWriter (remote filing for staff and outside contributors using a Web browser).
