By: E&P Staff Belgian publisher Corelio has chosen Swedish software developer Polopoly for all its Web activities. Corelio publishes the Dutch-language dailies De Standaard, Het Nieuwsblad and Het Volk, as well as a number of regional French-language dailies.
Corelio will use Polopoly's content-management system as the central platform for new digital services, and to develop interactive Web sites for its media properties.
Polopoly's browser-based platform, built in Java and based on open standards, can be used in any operating environment and can be integrated with other applications, according to the company. The platform, developed in 1996 for Dagens Nyheter, Scandinavia's largest morning daily, supports multi-channel publishing.
