Belo April Ad Revenue Up, But Dallas Is Down

By: E&P Staff Belo announced that newspaper advertising revenue for the month of April increased 4.5% compared to the same period last year.

At The Dallas Morning News, total revenue grew 1.1%. The Providence Journal advanced 6.5%, and The Press-Enterprise in Riverside, Calif. grew 10.8%.

Advertising revenue at the Morning News was down 0.4%. Retail full-run ROP revenue dropped 4.1%. General full-run ROP revenue slipped 11%. Classified revenue grew 7.2%. Within the classified category, help wanted and real estate revenue was up 19.7% and 22.4%, respectively, while automotive decreased 8.5%.

At the Providence Journal, advertising revenue rose 9.2%. Advertising revenue at the Press-Enterprise jumped 17%.
