By: E&P Staff Belo Corp. president/CEO Dunia A. Shive has been named to the Associated Press' board of directors.
Shive, who will serve a three-year term, has served as president and CEO of Dallas-based Belo Corp. since February 2008. She served as its president and chief operating officer from November 2007 to February 2008, and from February 2006 through November 2007 she was president/Media Operations, with oversight of all of Belo's television, cable news and interactive media operations and two of its three major newspapers.
A member of the Board of Directors of Belo Corp. and a member of the National Association of Broadcasters Television Board of Directors, Shive also has been a member of Belo's Management Committee since 1998.
The AP board has 18 directors elected by AP members at its annual meeting, in staggered classes of six each year. These directors are elected to three-year terms and are eligible to serve up to a total of nine years.
