By: E&P Staff Al D?a, the Spanish-language daily created by Belo's Dallas Morning News, will provide content, print and distribute the World Cup-oriented products being rolled out by ImpreMedia newspapers, the Spanish-language chain said Thursday.

As part of the agreement, Al D?a will print and distribute the nine remaining supplements in its 2006 World Cup print marketing program called "Golazo! 2006." Al D?a will also distribute "Brindis de Gloria!," a glossy magazine that uses archival material from ImpreMedia dailies El Diario La Prensa in New York and La Opini?n in Los Angeles to recount the history of every World Cup since 1930. The magazine is planned for release in July.

The Dallas newspaper and ImpreMedia will jointly sell advertising for all the World Cup products.

"This World Cup program is a great example of how ImpreMedia is leveraging its editorial and marketing assets to provide a national platform for readers and advertisers," ImpreMedia CEO John Paton said in a statement.

In addition to the New York and L.A. dailies, ImpreMedia publishes the weeklies La Raza in Chicago, La Prensa in central Florida, and El Mensajero in San Francisco.

ImpreMedia also announced that it had signed Best Buy, Bud Light and MoneyGram as the three title sponsors for the World Cup program.

"It was our goal to build customized programs for these types of brands by leveraging our 75 years experience in covering every World Cup and producing some of the best editorial content available," Erich Linker, ImpreMedia senior vice president of sales, said in a statement.
