By: E&P Staff Ahead of most expectations, Bob Woodward's super-rushed ?Deep Throat? book will go on sale on July 6, according to a new listing at BarnesandNoble.com, where it can be pre-ordered.
Since the first onsale notice appeared at E&P Online on Tuesday, the book has soared in the B&N sales rankings from #522 to #4.
The book's title: ?The Secret Man: The Story of Watergate's Deep Throat.? The family of the "man," W. Mark Felt, is also shopping a memoir now, but it will lag far behind, even if they do find a publisher quickly.
The Woodward book will mark, in a sense, the reunion of the ?Woodstein? team, as the cover promises in large letters ?A Reporter's Assessment by Carl Bernstein.? The cover also shows the official seal of the FBI.
The Simon & Schuster hardback lists for $23 but now sells for $16.10 at B&N. It will also be sold as a 5-hour, 5-disc CD.
It's also now available in pre-order at amazon.com, where it sells for $15.64. It's listed at 256 pages.
