By: E&P Staff Q.I. Press Controls, Oosterhout, the Netherlands, has received an order from News International printing division Newsprinters, Broxbourne, England.
One manroland Colorman XXL press line at Broxbourne will be equipped with Q.I. Press Controls' Intelligent Density System for closed-loop color-density control, in order to evaluate the benefits, which are expected to include savings and quality improvements.
Newsprinters' printing plant in Broxbourne is the worlds largest," according to Q.I. Press Controls UK Managing Director Simon Bermingham. Its 12 full-color printing presses, each capable of printing 86,000 copies per hour, consume more than 280,000 tons of newsprint a year. Other Newsprinters plants are at Liverpool and Glasgow, Scotland.
